FREEDOM By J. Nivaldo Alvarez
(This was originally poesy, but, with translation, was not able to keep the rhymes)

Freedom is to be able to think freely; to be responsible, to assume an act; to have certainty on each attitude taken; is to assume the consequences in fact. |
Freedom is to respect someone else’s rights, to know how to use one’s own wishes, to not point at others’ imperfections, but to stimulate their qualities.
Freedom is to be able to walk determinedly; to choose and tread one’s own path; to show oneself openly, not to stay hidden; is to run, to walk in groups or alone.
Freedom is to show yourself truly, to silence when necessary, to show yourself entirely, is to escape from mediocrity.
Freedom is to be able to smile or cry, without fear of
being criticized; to make decisions, to examine; is to assume
what was analyzed. |
Freedom is to maintain a conviction, when nobody else
gives it value, to feel intuition inside, to be devoted to
life with love. |
Freedom is knowing how to
do things. Freedom is knowing how to listen. Freedom is
knowing how to believe. Freedom is knowing how to assume.
